The Attorney Behind the Academy

KGL Workplace Solutions was built by an employment law attorney who believes HR professionals deserve better tools, better training, and better support.

Meet Kimberlee

Founder and Managing Member

Kimberlee Gee is the Founder and Managing Member of KGL Workplace Solutions, based in Washington, DC and Maryland, and serving clients nationwide.

Before founding KGL Workplace Solutions, Kimberlee served most recently as Deputy Assistant General Counsel for a financial services corporation, where she provided high-level legal counsel to the Board of Directors and senior leadership on employment and personnel matters, provided advisory services to HR on a range of workforce issues, and oversaw the corporation's ethics compliance program.

In that role, she managed workplace investigations, training programs, and litigation across a wide range of employment proceedings, representing the corporation in judicial and administrative forums and resolving matters involving discrimination, wrongful discharge, and leave and benefits matters.

Kimerlee Gee, Employment Attorney

Kimberlee has keen insight on navigating employment matters in unionized environments and has overseen grievance administration, the negotiation of collective bargaining, and unfair labor practice proceedings.

Earlier in her career, Kimberlee worked as a policy analyst for a national labor organization, where she developed policy data products, conducted legislative research, and drafted white papers on federal labor policy and workforce initiatives.

She also served as an editor for a national labor publication, writing and editing extensively on employment and labor law legislation, regulatory developments, and their practical implications for the workplace.

That breadth of her experience, spanning compliance, policy research and development, and labor relations, is what shapes everything in this academy.

KGL Workplace Solutions translates the rigor of employment law into practical training and clear, repeatable processes that HR teams can actually use.

We do not use dense legalese, or one-off advice that disappears when the consultant leaves. This academy puts attorney-created courses, templates, and toolkits directly in the hands of the HR professionals and business leaders who need them most, and explains the law in terms everyone can understand.

BACKGROUND & CREDENTIALS

Kimberlee has supported all phases of employment matters, from preventative counseling and day-to-day HR guidance to litigation defense.

She has served as lead counsel in employment litigation, conducted internal workplace investigations for both public and private institutions, and routinely partners with corporate counsel, executive leadership, and human resources teams to resolve employee relations issues and develop strategies that minimize risk.

For over 20 years, her work has been at the intersection of employment law and HR, helping organizations build compliant workplaces through policy advising, training, investigative support, and the practical tools and frameworks that make it all repeatable.

WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT THIS WORK

Removing the Fear.

Increasing Confidence.

HR professionals are on the front lines in handling some of the most sensitive, high-stakes issues in a workplace, and they deserve to feel prepared.

I believe that good compliance isn't about fear. It's about giving people the right tools and the right training so they can act with clarity and confidence when it matters most.

Every course, template, and toolkit in this academy is built on that belief: that when HR is equipped, everyone is better protected, and the workplace becomes a place where people can do their best work.

Employment law training for HR

Mutual Value

The organizations and professionals who invest in this academy are my partners, they bring their trust and their time, and I take that seriously.

Every resource is built with one standard: that anyone who completes a course or downloads a toolkit walks away feeling like they received more value than they expected, not less. That's the benchmark. Premium training doesn't have to come with a premium vendor price tag, but it should always deliver premium depth, rigor, and practical impact.

My Why?

Employment law is a very human field, and we all spend so much time at work. It's important that we have policies, practices and processes in place that create a safe, fair environment for everyone.

I view my online, digital products as an extension of that philosophy.

CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN LEGAL RISK & HR READINESS

In 2024, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims rose significantly, and that trajectory is expected to continue in 2026 and beyond as regulatory changes accelerate.

The organizations most exposed aren't the ones that don't care. They're the ones that haven't been given the right infrastructure to respond.

I built this academy for them.

Who This Academy Serves

This academy is designed for organizations that fall into the gaps most HR training programs ignore:

→ Organizations without a dedicated in-house investigator, or those with an investigator who was handed the title without the training, the frameworks, or the resources to do the job with confidence.

→ Mid-size operations that need consistency across departments and locations, where different managers are handling the same issues in different ways, and there's no standardized process holding it all together.

→ Organizations that are over-reliant on outside counsel for matters that shouldn't require a $400-an-hour phone call: routine compliance questions and day-to-day HR decisions that a well-trained internal team should be equipped to handle on their own.

This academy is built to close these gaps.

What Makes KGL Workplace Solutions Trainings Different

I sit at the intersection of the legal world and the HR world, and I built this academy to bridge the two. I understand litigation risks and regulatory exposure, and I know how to explain those concepts in clear, practical language that HR professionals can actually apply without a law degree.

This is not rote learning. Every course is built around real, up-to-date case studies that show how investigations and compliance decisions succeed or fail in practice. Students don't just absorb information, they analyze real-world outcomes, test their knowledge against actual scenarios, and leave with a roadmap for practical application they can use immediately.

Most HR training programs hand you concepts and wish you luck. These trainings hand you so much more.

 Deep understanding.

 Practical tools.

 Repeatable processes and frameworks.

You don't need a law degree to do your job well. Every resource here translates legal complexity into clear, actionable language that HR professionals can actually use in the moment.
